Voice engineers involved in deployment, management or maintenance of enterprise voice systems which provide access to the PSTN should ensure that the Emergency Services can be contacted from all required endpoints.  Limited test calls on 999 and 112 may be performed to verify call routing on 999 and 112 as required.

Voice Service Providers

Voice Service providers and carriers are encouraged to monitor, test and validate routing for emergency calls on their network including resilience and redundant routes on a regular basis. The ECAS team can assist with verification of inbound call routes, and other call aspects if required.

Voice Service Providers should arrange test windows with the ECAS service so as to ensure that test activity does not impact on the handling of live emergency calls.
